The City Clerk is responsible for conducting impartial municipal elections, This includes finding poll workers, providing citizens with voting information, as well as helping candidates learn what they need to do in order to qualify for office.
The City of Anniston is happy to share the official list of polling locations for the upcoming City Council and City School Board elections happening this August 2025. These locations are approved by the City Council, and they will serve as your designated spots to cast your votes and make your voices heard. The City of Anniston is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as poll workers for the upcoming election. If you are passionate about supporting the democratic process and want to contribute to your community, consider applying to be a poll worker.

What is a Poll Worker?
Poll workers are paid election officials who staff local polling places to ensure the smooth and fair execution of Election Day procedures. Their responsibilities begin before Election Day, as all poll workers are required to complete training to perform their tasks effectively. Poll workers play a vital role in safeguarding voters’ rights and maintaining the integrity of the election process.
Serving as a poll worker offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the election process while making a positive impact in your community.
Poll Worker Requirements:
• Must be a registered voter in Anniston
• At least 18 years old
• Must attend mandatory poll worker training on June 27, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
• Cannot be a member of a candidate’s immediate family (within the second degree of kinship) or a member of a candidate’s political committee
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work well under pressure
Hours of Work:
All poll workers must report to their assigned precinct by 6:30 a.m. on Election Day (August 26, 2025). Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
After the polls close, workers must ensure that everyone in line by 7:00 p.m. has voted. Poll workers are responsible for completing necessary reports, packaging materials, and preparing everything for return to Anniston City Hall, 1129 Noble Street, Anniston, AL 36201. This post-closing process may take several hours.
Notification of Selection:
If you are selected to serve as a poll worker, you will receive an official letter confirming your appointment.
