Main Street Anniston PITCH Contest

Overview:

We are excited to announce the Bright Ideas Pitch Contest in partnership with Main Street Alabama, designed to support the growth and expansion of businesses in our district. This contest offers a $10,000 grant to one local business that demonstrates a compelling plan for expanding their operations. Whether your business is already established in the district or you’re planning to relocate to our vibrant Mainstreet, this opportunity is for you!

This informational packet outlines the contest rules, application process, selection criteria, and other important details to help you prepare your pitch.

Contest Rules & Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

To participate in the Bright Ideas Contest, your business must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum Business Operation: Your business must have been in operation for at least one year as of October 1, 2024.
  • Location: Your business should either be located within the district or planning to relocate to our district.
  • Type of Business: This contest is open to all businesses, including retail, service-based businesses, and others with the potential for expansion.

Funding Award:

  • The winner of the contest will receive a $10,000 grant to support their business expansion efforts. This funding can be used for purposes such as:
    • Equipment Upgrades: Investing in new tools or technology to improve efficiency.
    • Marketing: Expanding your reach through advertising, promotions, or brand development.
    • Product Development: Creating new products or services to attract more customers.
    • Other Expansion Needs: Anything that will contribute to the growth of your business and positively impact the local community.

Contest Format:

  • Pitch Presentation: Participants will be required to submit a pitch presentation detailing their business and expansion plans. The pitch should clearly explain how the grant funds will be used and how this will contribute to the growth of your business.
    • The pitch should be 5 minutes in length.
    • After the pitch, there will be a Q&A session where the judges can ask follow-up questions to gain deeper insight into your business plans.

Deadlines:

  • Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by January 6, 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
  • Pitch Event Date: The pitch event will be held on January 15, 2025 and finalists will present their pitches to the judging panel.
  • Winner Announcement: The winner will be announced immediately after the event.
