SUNDAY, APRIL 9
MCCLELLAN ROAD RACE, MCCLELLAN AND CHOCCOLLOCCO COMMUNITIES

On Sunday, April 9, the Alabama Cycling Classic will take place on Choccolocco Road. The road will not be closed, but the event will affect traffic patterns, especially during morning church hours. Below are links to a map of the race course and a detailed description of road closure for the Road Race on Sunday and the Sunny King Criterium on Saturday.

The race is a 22-mile loop that will take cyclists over Choccolocco Road approximately every 45 minutes between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM. There will be a 10 to 15-minute delay while traffic is held for the cyclists to pass, and there will be one officer from the Anniston Police Department as well as volunteer support to help with traffic control.

Please share this information with any affected stakeholders, residents, and businesses so they can plan accordingly. For general information on this event, link here.
