The City of Anniston is seeking qualified developers or development teams to submit qualifications to work in partnership with the City of Anniston toward the redevelopment and renovation of a hotel and restaurant site in the City’s scenic downtown Central Business District.  The City currently owns the Victoria Inn (“Inn”) that overlooks 3.32 acres of land.  This beautiful historic Victorian mansion is home to 60 adjoining rooms that include suites and dining facilities.  A seasonal swimming pool also serves as a great addition for guests who wish to enjoy recreation activities on the property.  Our nationally recognized bike trails, and mountain climbing and rafting opportunities serve as fun and exciting recreational activities for more adventurous guests, with the Inn serving as the perfect resting stop for some down time.  The City’s civic center facility sits next door to the Inn, providing plentiful partnership opportunities for meetings and conferences held in conjunction with the Inn.
The goal of the City is to locate a firm or individual capable of making a significant renovation investment into the Inn and restaurant in a way that contributes to a vibrant downtown and central business district area thereby increasing the City’s tax base.  The Inn is located in historic downtown Anniston, five miles from I-20, 11 miles from Cheaha State Park, and equidistant from the metropolitan areas of Atlanta and Birmingham.  The City is committed to the continued redevelopment and renewal of the City’s historic downtown and views this opportunity as a potential cornerstone of that redevelopment and renewal.  The City of Anniston is the governmental and financial hub of Calhoun County, as well as the medical hub for the region.  It has small town charm in the realm of large surrounding metropolitan cities.  It is a vibrant city committed to the enhancement of economic development and the quality of life of all citizens.
