Anniston Outdoor Association- Flint River Float Trip

This will be about a 4-hour canoe trip on the Flint River Canoe Trail located in Madison County near
Huntsville. The Flint River Canoe Trail consists of 34 miles of navigable water with a good current
with no rapids. The Flint River is known for its sparkling water, rock bluffs, rippling shoals, wildlife,
and forest canopy. Our trip will begin on Brownsboro Road and will end on Little Cove Road located
a little southwest of Gurley. We will be utilizing the services of North Alabama Canoe & Kayak for this
trip (NACK). Their rates are $45.00 for kayaks (including the shuttle) and $30.00 to shuttle private
boats. Participants should pack a lunch as plans are to take a lunch break along the way. Local
participants may meet by 7:30 am at the Pic-N-Save Grocery Store (formally Winn Dixie) located on
US Hwy 431 in Saks Community of North Anniston to carpool or caravan. Others may meet directly
at the outfitter located at 1143 Moontown Road in Brownsboro by 9:30 am. To register for this
outing, please contact Keith Hudson by Monday, June 17. When registering, please let him know if
you will need to rent a kayak or if you will just need a shuttle for your personal boat. Keith may be
reached by email at anniston.outdoor.assn@gmail.com, or by phone or text at 256.453.9527. Credit
or debit cards are not accepted so please come prepared to make cash payment upon your arrival at
