Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains about halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta, Anniston is a city on the move and open for business.
Anniston is blessed with natural beauty and great people. We have two Smithsonian-quality museums: the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum of World History; and two world class bike trails: the Chief Ladiga Trail, which is a Rails-to-Trails project, and the Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail, which is recognized as Bronze Level by the International Mountain Biking Association.
With a resurgent, walkable downtown populated with restaurants, bars, and specialty shops, you’ll have plenty to do during your visit. We also have McClellan, a former military base that is ripe for both commercial and residential development.
Very recently, the Freedom Riders National Monument was established in Anniston making it one of only three such national monuments in Alabama.
We have so much to offer in Anniston. We hope that you come for a visit. You might just decide to stay!
— The Honorable Jack Draper, Mayor of Anniston
