2024 Redistricting
Anniston Water Works and Sewer Board (AWWSB) members provide oversight for operations permitted by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). The Board serves over 20,000 direct customers as well as seven (7) purchase water systems/entities from two (2) water plants and two (2) waste water plants. AWWSB is also responsible for watershed protection and management of three premier water resources; Coldwater Spring, Hillabee Reservoir and the Hamner Reservoir. Board members review and approve monthly operations of the water and sewer system. This includes, but is not limited to, financial information and audits, employment policy, environmental regulation, engineering summary overview and long-term planning.
The Board is comprised of seven (7) members. Four (4) members are appointed by the Anniston City Council and three (3) members are appointed by the Calhoun County Legislative Delegation. The board meets on the third Thursday of each month.
